Do you toss and turn at night?
Do you wake up only to glance at the clock at the same time every night and groan in frustration?
Do you have trouble falling asleep and stare at the ceiling wondering if sleep will ever come?
Do you wake up feeling like a zombie?
If you said yes to these questions, you're not alone!
Lack of sleep has many varied causes and can also have a cascade effect on mental and physical health creating a vicious cycle.
The workshop will begin with a calming cup of chamomile tea and a meditation. (Feel free to bring your favorite mug!) Together, led by Yoga Therapist Dawn Shawley, we will work to understand the importance of sleep, sleep hygiene habits, and balance the nervous system with relaxing yoga positions, and breathing and relaxation techniques.
Participants will come to understand how sleep does not exist separately from our days - it is affected by lifestyle and underlying issues. this workshop invites you to identify small concrete changes to implement post workshop!
To gain maximum benefit from this workshop, you will be emailed and asked to complete an Intake Form. The form invites reflection and self-inquiry around your sleeping patterns and offers a chance to track patterns for two weeks prior to attending. The intention is to understand patterns or potential blocks more clearly. Please bring this completed material to the workshop with you! The form itself will be kept private, however you are welcome to share insights with the group as you feel comfortable.
*Due to the homework portion of this workshop, registration will close on May 27th.
A minimum of three participants will be required in order to run this workshop, in the unlikely event that that number is not reached, you will be refunded.
