Earlier this year, as part of my Reiki Master training I participated in a guided meditation led by Renee Russell where we were prompted to meet our future selves.
As I settled into the visualization my doorbell rang and my subconscious presented me with a future me. She was effortlessly cool wearing a maxi dress, espadrille sandals and some kind of fun earrings, carrying a baby on her hip. She was also somehow taller than I am now - not in inches but in confidence.
She knew who she was.
She said she had something to show me and together we drove to what we know now to be Laurel Limb Yoga - a local studio here in downtown Lewisburg, PA. The sign on the door suggested that the space had been closed for some time as did the cobwebs that had taken up residence in the corners - a community that was hanging on but in need of care and repair.
Future me gently unlocked the door and together we walked inside. "I just bought it" she said as she flipped on the lights and my breath caught in my throat. The familiarity was palpable. "I have a lot of work to do, will you help?" she said.
When Renee brought us back to the present I reached for my notebook and hastily jotted down what I knew to be true: I knew it was mine all along.
Nine months after writing those words in my journal I am delighted to share that I just signed the lease: the Happy & Healthy Wellness Studio will open it's doors on July 1, 2022.
As it turns out the studio wasn't the only thing in gestation, because in five short months I will also have a baby on my hip, just as future me depicted.
If you'd like to learn more about the studio, our teachers, or offerings you can do so by clicking here.

Write about it: Spend sometime getting to know your future self. Allow her to introduce herself to you through words, perhaps a letter. What does she look like? How does she make others feel?
